Our Senior Youth Classes are grouped into two classes: · Middle School – Grade 6 – 8 · High School – Grade 9 – 12 Our motto is simple: “Application, not just information!” Terry Wardle writes: “These days most Christians are over-informed, yet are under-transformed.” This is a reality we want to avoid in the lives of our teenagers, and it affects how and what we teach at FPC. The curriculum we use for the Senior Youth Classes is based on the book The Seven Checkpoints (Seven Principles Every Teenager Needs to Know) which stresses the learning of “Biblical Life Skills” instead of the traditional approach of studying Bible stories and memorizing verses of Scripture. The goal is to teach teenagers how to apply their faith to the very real and complex situations they face on a daily basis. This curriculum examines seven principles that are critically important in the life of our teens: 1. Authentic Faith 2. Ultimate Authority 3. Spiritual Disciplines 4. Healthy Friendships 5. Moral Boundaries 6. Others First 7. Making Wise Choices
